The Middle Georgia Regional Commission is soliciting proposals from potential bidders interested in creating a sustainable project to impact senior hunger within one county or any combination of the eleven counties of the Middle Georgia region: Baldwin, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Macon-Bibb, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, Twiggs, and Wilkinson.
Up to two projects within the Middle Georgia region will be funded at $2,500 each. This funding is a one-time grant targeting innovation. Sustainability outside this funding for the project must be included in the grant submission. The project targets at least one of the five focus areas:
- Today’s Senior;
- Health Impact of Senior Hunger;
- Food Access;
- Food Waste and Reclamation; and
- Meeting the Community’s Needs.
The project must be a new initiative by the awardee not a continuation of funding for a project or program, and/or older adults currently being served through funding administered by the Middle Georgia Regional Commission. Service delivery for the proposed project must begin before June 30, 2021, and end before December 31, 2021.
Proposals should be received by Julie Hall, Monday, May 24, 2021, 5:00 PM. Proposals may be emailed, postal mailed, or dropped off in-person; however, all proposals must be received in the office no later than May 24, 2021, at 5:00PM. Under no circumstances will late or incomplete proposals be accepted.
Eligible Entities are: Senior Centers, Aging Service Providers, Non-Profit or For-Profit entities. Local, small, minority-owned/operated businesses are encouraged to submit proposals.
