The Middle Georgia Regional Commission is seeking to fill the position of Director of Public Administration.  The Director of Public Administration is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating the day‑to‑day activities of the Public Administration Department in order to provide a variety of services and support functions to local governments in numerous disciplines.  The Public Administration Department is responsible for local government services, community and economic development programs, planning, transportation planning, historic preservation, grant writing and administration, housing, hazard mitigation, personnel management, and environmental issues.

The Director of Public Administration, under the supervision of the Executive Director, guides and directs the Public Administration Department’s efforts in all areas.   This is a professional position that as part of the management team engages in professional local government issues involving administration, project management, and developing innovative solutions in coordination with member governments. It involves the application of considerable knowledge in the field of public administration.

Qualified applicants should have a Master’s Degree in Public Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university combined with two to four years of progressively responsible, relevant work experience.
